Awesome!

I tried the Zihuaquio which I beleieve is made in the buildings up on the side of the road as you head into Uxtapa. It is a licensed product and sold in two different bottles one is plain for $195 pesos in the tienda beside Verona at the set of street lights across from the Pemex, they also had a bottle with a wicker base more touristy but about 40 pesos more. Having tried it I would buy it again. Also there was Beneva last year in La Merza the larger store in centro for $165 pesos and it was OK as well but a reposado. La Cava in Ixtapa is carrying more mexcals this year ranging from $400 pesos or so but you can't try first which is important or is it ever so bad you would through it out. I also agree with Mac Man on the mezcal he also talked about as I tried it and ended up passing it along. Last year the duty free was passing out samples of some of the mezcals they were promoting but not sure if they are doing it again.

The Teguila and cigar stores in Zihua and Ixtapa have some more mezcals as well and often have some open and let you try them as they do with some of their tequilas.
