I regret to report that an elderly foreigner who resides here had his vehicle stolen this afternoon in broad daylight on a downtown street by armed gunmen who also pistol-whipped him.

Another absolutely beautiful sunny day with a gentle breeze. Since it hasn't rained for days, the ocean looks clean and inviting despite the waves from the mar de fondo event. Very few visitors were here to take advantage of it, but I keep seeing and hearing more north-of-the-border visitors around. It must be cold somewhere.

Daniel's Restaurant is reopening this Wednesday. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Come enjoy a delicious meal and refreshments on the beach next to the Cancha Municipal in downtown Zihuatanejo.

A damn shame and extremely disappointing that our new mayor appears to be concentrating only on appearances and pouring more of her husband's cement instead of doing ANYTHING to improve public security, but it was to be expected. This is why I keep warning people about robberies at this time of year here, though of course they can happen at any time, especially when the mayor doesn't take public security seriously and instead leaves it apparently last on her list of priorities, same as her husband, the previous mayor, did. Stay alert, please!

We had a blackout downtown this Tuesday evening that lasted about a half an hour. No idea what the cause was. At least the noisy bars down the block quieted down when all their clients went home. YAY! We're all good now.
