High clouds in the east this Monday morning made the sunrise seem slower, but they quickly blew away and left the sky mostly sunny. A nice breeze kicked up today made everyone much more comfortable and kept the temperatures mild. The bay was extremely calm with hardly any waves noticeable. It was an absolutely picture-postcard-perfect day! We even got a light rain that started around sunset and continues. Gonna make for nice sleeping weather tonight.

While the number of visitors dropped again today, there were still quite a few around, and they were certainly enjoying themselves at the beaches. The downtown waterfront restaurants did some business during the day though not much this evening with the rain. Local merchants enjoyed some sales, but the wandering vendors are having a rough time, especially since school is out and many have to look after their kids while they also work. Not easy.

The bi-weekly flights between Morelia and Zihuatanejo seem to be having a positive effect on local tourism. Mexicana just received a shipment of new jets that will soon be brought into service, and hopefully they will help bring us more visitors with high purchasing power. It'd be nice if a couple of them were dedicated to flights to and from Canada. I think that's the market Mexico should be looking for in the short term while things in the USA remain unsettling.
