I always thought that those words from Sun King were Italian. All my grandparents came from Italy but we were never taught Italian. When the families would get together and all the abuelos y tios would be speaking Italian, our grandmother would say to us li'l folks, "You American. You speak English." It was a damned shame, though. If I had learned Italian as a child, it would have been a helluva' lot easier to learn Spanish.
