MediZIHna para el Alma

In our neighborhood, we always hear music - usually Mexican. However, a few years ago when we had a boat, I was standing on the shore of the lagoon waiting for my husband to finish tying it up when his cousin goes by in his boat, playing the Doors' Light My Fire. As he moves further into the lagoon towards his parking place I hear six other fishermen/boat guys from around the lagoon singing along with the chorus, Come On Baby Light My FIRE! in off-key, heavily accented English. It's a combination!

The best Doors cover band I have ever heard is from Mexico City.
I heard them one night a few years ago in Ixtapa.
The lead singer was floored when I told him I had seen the Doors in 1967.
It was a bad night for Morrison.
He came out very drunk and antagonized the audience to the point where most left, including me.
A few years ago I read on the internet that he recovered and they put on a fine show...
