Question on a taxi rate
Hard to tell from rate sheet.
What should rate be from La Ropa Beach (taxi stand )
To Madera taxi stand across from Orient Bay.
Thanks.
Your first mistake is to take the taxi from the taxi stand, known as a sitio. They're allowed to charge inflated rates. Better to call a taxi and pay the extra 5 pesos than to use a sitio taxi and pay much more.It should only cost you 45 pesos maximum from any part of La Ropa to Orient Bay. That is the minimum charge.
Thank-you. Rob.
I didn’t realize that they can charge you more from that stand.
I thought they all had to abide by the rates.
The taxi stand across from Orient Bay has always charged me 50.
First mistake I made was not to ask rate.
That was a rookie mistake.
I’ve taken this trip multiple times and it’s been 45-50 pesos.
Driver tried to charge me 70.
45-50 pesos is fine. We had a similar experience as yours a few years back going from the old Kau-Kan when it was across the street from Orient Bay to the Casa Que Canta. Driver wanted something like 70 or 80 pesos.
