Honestly the only time I was ever nervous in Zihua was when I stayed at Tree Tops on Blanca and went to get my then 7 yo son some food the day we arrived at one of the cool jungle restaurants back there by the big lagoon. There were about 30 federales with their M16s sitting at the huge table there. I ordered my food and one of them came over and said something like "You're in trouble gringo!" and the started laughing with the toothiest smile and invited me over to have shots with them while I waited. The joke made me nervous and also the fact that after our 3rd shot together (after they had been there a WHILE) they all piled into their Suburbans and took off.
