No rain last night, and the temperature took a while to get down to a comfortable 26°C, but our ceiling and floor fans did a nice job keeping us comfortable. But once the sun came out, things warmed up quickly to around 35°C. Staying hydrated is important during this time of year we call La Canícula. Typically the warmest 40 days of the year. We have a slight chance of rain overnight, and a much higher higher chance this Thursday evening and Friday morning.

Argentina continues to be the last hope for an American team to win the World Cup.

There seem to be more visitors around today. Local shopkeepers are enjoying modest sales. Beachfront restaurants are busy. Ixtapa's shopping area remains the same with hardly anyone from the beachfront hotels even visiting, much less consuming anything off the premisis of their all-included hotels. Unfortunately, a woman was found shot to death in her vehicle near the Lagunillas turnoff just north of Troncones this morning. Not a very welcoming sight for folks arriving from the inland cities via the Autopista Siglo XXI.

Still no real waves from the storm that continues forming up off our coast. Current swells are just under a meter but expected to grow to a little over a meter by this coming Sunday and Monday. The water is hot, close to 32°C, over a degree above normal for this time of year. Surf looks good for the rest of the week and better for next week.
