My wife Lupita just happened to be at the ayuntamiento this Tuesday morning when the alarm sounded for the Simulacro Nacional. Of course all the firetrucks and ambulances quickly made their appearances there for the photo shoot, so in a real earthquake at least we know we can count on them saving the politicians first. Typical.
Did anyone here take part and participate in the Simulacro Nacional? Where were you when the alarm sounded on your SkyAlert app?
And of course there were 3 real quakes in our region today. A 4.4 and a 4.1 in Coyuca de Benítez, and a 4.1 in Zihuatanejo.
I don't think I spotted a single tourist today. Things are pretty sad for the local family merchants who are the backbone of our local economy. Last weekend was a big bust tourist-wise. We just keep tightening belts until November. There's gonna be a lot of damn skinny locals by then.

What a wonderful foto!!!!
We had to make a vet run and a doctor run today, and saw two couples walking "over the hill" to us on playa la ropa that were obviously gringo tourists.
Not many, but we are seeing more international tourist during the off season than we have ever seen in the past
We have a legal one bedroom rental, and have had to block a significant period of time for this tourist season so that we don't go over the 10 week rental time that we are confortable with.
With any luck, this next tourist season/tourist time will be good.

Yes sort of participated. When the alarm sounded we stopped the VW and all got out and ran around the car three times. Got back in and drove away.
