It looks like our cool sleeping weather is over. Saturday night was sheets-optional with a fan on medium. The overnight low temperatures aren't expected to be as low as they had been. Around 25°C will be the lowest temperature until next weekend. And it's been more humid in the daytime, making it feel even warmer. It looked like it was going to rain this Sunday afternoon, and the percentages look good for some local rain this coming Tuesday and Wednesday. It rained today in Atoyac de Álvarez. Here we go!

It wasn't hardly worth opening today for most local businesses. There just aren't that many visitors around, and even less with money to spend on anything other than food and drinks. I don't know how the sales of books are going at the book fair. It looks like people are milling around looking at books, but I don't see them walking around with purchases.

There were a couple of nice musical events this evening apart from a callejoneada that actually interrupted an event for children at Plaza del Artista. The son of a popular Colombian musician (see today's music above) played guitar at Plaza Kioto, and a group played Columbian cumbias at la Cancha Municipal. Great music! Lots of us were dancing, but there was nowhere to dance because of all the tables and tents for the book fair, so we continued on our evening stroll as did other people who were dancing while walking.

Keep up with the events for the Feria del Libro on my Community Notices & Events page.

It's surprising to continue to see so many people from the USA and Canada here at this time of year. Way to hang in there! Some of them I hear speaking their Spanish instead of speaking in English or French, and it warms my heart. I can't even imagine living here and not understanding local conversations, music, news, sports, TV shows and movies in their own language. I've hardly spoken any English for weeks if not months, maybe a couple of times, though I do sing along to some of my favorite old music from the 60's and 70's.
"Oh, yeah! You're a strange stray cat!... I bet your mother don't know you can bite like that!" :stones:
