I really hope he just leaves the pedestrian streets alone. I like your last sentence: people don’t vacation in Zihuatanejo because of its painted concrete. People vacation in Zihuatanejo for the exact opposite actually - it still has an old world feel to parts of it. Not commercialized. When we have friends here for the first time - that is one of the first things they say!
