Chikungunya? Let me tell ya...
My husband contracted it after a visit in the first part of December to Puerto Vallarta. After 21 lab tests and a consult from an infectious disease specialist they finally determined it was Chikungunya. He is ok now and was lucky not to have the joint pain/fever last more than a month and a half. Just a note...it apparently started spreading into Mexico within the last year or so. It was originally from Africa, then moved into the Caribbean (including parts of Florida) and finally made it's way into Mexico. Fun times!
