I’m old enough to remember when you could have a debate and walk away friends. When people on different sides of the political isle could have a discussion without resorting to grade school name calling. Apparently those days are gone. One quote that stuck in my mind went like this, “When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser .”

Two observations:

1) It is not slander if what is said is true.

2) You are correct that political discussions have become shouting matches. Juvenile name calling is rampant, especially from a certain individual who enjoy chaos and flouting the rule of law.
