Perhaps when you tell them that the economy is doing great while they're accruing credit card debt to purchase food for their families and gas for their cars, or going without altogether, maybe they don't believe you. They may not be highly educated but when the administration tells them over and over again that the border is secure while they can see with their now eyes millions of people walking across the border unabated they sense some thing is wrong. When they see vicious Venezuelan street gangs suddenly appear in 15 U.S. states and literally take over apartment complexes they find that troubling.

In his usual reserved way Rob made some good points. I can only add a few more. To wit:
-No, Venezuelan street gangs have not taken over apartment complexes. What? Elected leaders and police just look the other way? Elected leaders don't get reelected and police don't get respect by being soft on crime. That conspiracy theory has been widely debunked, and no one in any position of authority has confirmed it. And it doesn't make any sense anyway.
-No, millions of illegals have not crossed the border 'unabated'. Thousands perhaps, but hardly unabated. If you believe that I urge you, in fact I dare you, to go down to Tijuana, throw away your ID, and try to stroll back across the undefended border 'unabated'. You will be shocked - shocked I says - to learn that crossing is difficult, dangerous and very expensive, with less than a 50-50 chance of success. Moreover, illegal crossings have been cut in half over the last six months. I'm sure you will want to give Joe Biden full credit for that.
-The economy isn't just OK, or even good. It's a booming economy, and all the economic indicators show that. (And yes, some will still struggle even in a booming economy.) To believe otherwise you'd have to believe that thousands of civil servants who are tasked with compiling these numbers every month, for unknown reasons are engaged in a vast airtight conspiracy to lie to the public. And not even one of them willing to take that sweet, sweet Fox money and blow the whistle on this treachery. Sheesh. Conspiracies like that do not exist and do not make any sense.
