Unfortunately, as qualified and eloquent as Heather Cox Richardson is on the subject, cult followers don't understand all those big words or abstract concepts. It hurts their heads (a symptom of their own cognitive dissonance). They think their cult leader is infallible, as you can detect in the comments some of his cult followers have posted here. They are clueless about what's going down and what's about to happen, though some are apparently giddy with glee that millions of hardworking brown-skinned people are about to be rounded up like animals and deported, and that belies their own moral shortcomings and lack of understanding of contemporary history and why things are the way they are. I've asked each and every one of them to comment on the fact that they voted for a CRIMINAL, a TRAITOR and an INSURRECTIONIST yet not one of them has an answer other than to try to deny he's any of those things. The USA's justice system has failed it woefully. In contrast, Brazil's ex-president Bolsonaro was just indicted for basically the same things the did. Apparently Brazil's justice system works better than the USA's. On January 20 the USA will become the very banana republic it so often accuses other countries including Mexico of being.
