Why am I leery of visiting Z?

Yes these are all legitimate concerns. Still would rather be here then any other place on earth. And if you wanted to go somewhere where there are no problems, please tell us where you would find such a place.

"Legitimate concerns"? With respect, helene, your response is nonsense.
The behavior described is outrageous and I doubt there are many places in the world where it would even be contemplated, yet alone performed. It is one more sign of a breakdown in public order.

We drive our car down here. Now I'll have to watch for groups of criminal vigilantes intent on blocking our vehicle and threatening us, if I have the nerve to pick up a couple of friends for a day at the beach? And what if I give these creeps the finger they so rightfully deserve? Will my vehicle be vandalized? Will I and/or my wife or passengers be beaten? Or worse?

"Legitimate concern" my ass. This kind of crap is a game-changer.
