People don’t even define “wokeness”. It seems to be used as a term to disparage anything that doesn’t support the status quo or the reactionary political forces.

I have this recurring image of a group of conservatives sitting around, bitching and moaning and harrumphing about 'wokeness'. One is ranting on and on while all the others are nodding and stroking their chins and wondering what the hell 'woke' means.

Rob is right - woke is just another term for common courtesy. But too many see it as an onerous burden on their natural inclination to be obnoxious jerks. And too many think common courtesy is just a quaint notion whose time has passed and certainly won't garner any 'likes' on social media. So 'woke' has to be stamped out, violently if necessary.

The dumbing down of America continues apace.

Another example of right-wing paranoia is their response to the word "liberal." Take a perfectly normal word, describing perfectly normal people
and ideas, and turn it into something used to frighten small children. Whether I ever vote for them or not, I was always proud that our historically most successful political party is "The Liberal Party of Canada." Take that, all you MAGAT morons.
